Meyer was born in Tacoma, Washington, United States, and attended Pacific Lutheran University, where she received a degree in creative writing. Before writing Cinder, Meyer worked as a book editor for five years and wrote Sailor Moon fan fiction under the pen name of Alicia Blade. In an interview with The News-Tribune, she said that doing the fan fiction helped her learn the craft of writing, gave her instant feedback, and taught her how to take criticism. Meyer is married to Jesse Taylor. In 2015, she and her husband adopted their twin daughters, Sloane and Delaney. Meyer states that she was initially inspired to write Cinder after participating in the 2008 National Novel Writing Month contest where she wrote a story focusing on a futuristic version of Puss in Boots. The Lunar Chronicles is a four-book series (tetralogy) with volumes based on the stories of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Snow White. The first book, Cinder, was a New York Times bestseller. Briefly summarize the book
This book tells the history of Winter, the step-daughter of Levana who is seventeen years old and it's considered the most beautiful girl in Luna. She was forced to rip off her skin when she was thirteen and Levana always sub estimated her saying that she was weak and crazy. In the first part of the book, Levana was executing people and then Jacin was accused of treason to the crown and was imprisoned without eating for 1 month. After that, he was designed as Winter s personal guard. Meanwhile, Cinder and her friends: Cress, Capitan Thone, Wolf, Iko, and her boyfriend Kai were planning for the revolution and to dethrone Queen Levana, so Cinder prepared a video to convince people that she was the queen that they needed, and also went to find Wolf ' s parents and found Mrs. Kesley, Wolf s' mother. Then she ordered Jacin to kill Winter but instead of killing Winter, Jacin protected her and killed Ryu instead, also he liberated Scalet from prison. Then Queen Levana made a video in response to Cinder s 'video. Next Cinder, Maya, and her friends were fighting against Levana s' soldiers, but they failed and they were split and Maya died. Kai went to Luna to marry Levana while Cinder was going to be executed, but she trowed her self in the water also Scarlet and Winter found new allies two wolf guards of Levana, and Cress was protected by Jacin. Cinder was unconscious and Levana created a new plan to kill her stepdaughter by dressing herself as a witch and bring her sour apples, her favorite fruit, and Winter bit the apple and fell ill of leutomosis. When Cinder recovered she decided to make another plan to dethrone her aunt, by interfering in the palace, a lot of innocent people died including Tramautage Aimery and when Levana gave up and said to Cinder the main reasons she manipulated her people, (most of them said in Fairiest) and she said that Cinder resembles a lot her mother Channary, then she was shot with a gun by her own niece, and the next day Cinder woke up and someone told her that Levana was dead. Scarlet found Wolf and they decided to live together in the Benoit Farm and told her friend Emelie that she was alive, Cress and Throne confessed their love and Throne won the Rampion, while Cress was designed to another work and Winter was recovering from the disease. Then the book ended by the coronation of Cinder as the new queen of Luna and Kai stayed for two days and she decided to sing the Treaty of Bremen in which starts the alliance between the Eastern Commonwealth and the Earth and she also discussed her plans with the presidents. and she talked to her boyfriend saying that she wanted to abdicate the throne and convert Luna into a republic, Kai said that it was a good idea but it was going to be difficult because of the stupid royal belives but she said that she didn't want that because of what happened in the past and her boyfriend suggested her to be a Lunar ambassador and Winter to be one too and also proposed to her to be her empress in the future. Cinder answered that she is going to think about it and they kissed, and this is the end.

I rated it a 9 because it showed many problems and obstacles during the story and I thought that it was going to end badly at first. Also because I could relate with Winter in many things aside of her curly hair, mostly with her personality. I think Levana deserved a better ending in the story but despite all the bad things that happened to Cinder s' crew, they had the result of fighting and saving Luna. Also, the book was entertaining

It is not an effective ending because Levana deserved better and should ndie like that.
