The Lunar Chronicles (Cinder Book 1)
Hello dear readers, No time no see!. The reason I took so long of posting book reviews or anything else in my blog is that a lot of personal things were going on in my life and I was very busy at school. Now that I am on vacation and for the fifth anniversary in my blog I decided to change the design of it and also publish this book review. Ps: It's my sister's birthday!

Author
Meyer was born in Tacoma, Washington, United States, and attended Pacific Lutheran University, where she received a degree in creative writing. Before writing Cinder, Meyer worked as a book editor for five years and wrote Sailor Moon fan fiction under the pen name of Alicia Blade. In an interview with The News-Tribune, she said that doing the fan fiction helped her learn the craft of writing, gave her instant feedback, and taught her how to take criticism.
Meyer is married to Jesse Taylor. In 2015, she and her husband adopted their twin daughters, Sloane and Delaney.
Meyer states that she was initially inspired to write Cinder after participating in the 2008 National Novel Writing Month contest where she wrote a story focusing on a futuristic version of Puss in Boots. The Lunar Chronicles is a four-book series (tetralogy) with volumes based on the stories of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Snow White. The first book, Cinder, was a New York Times bestseller.
In 2013 Meyer received a two-book deal from Feiwel & Friends for a young adult series featuring the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. The first book, Heartless, was set for a Fall 2016 release. It is a stand-alone novel. Publishers Weekly announced that she would write a superhero series afterward.

Briefly summarize the book
Cinder is a 16-year-old mechanic who lived in Bejing with her stepmother Adri and her stepsisters: Pearl and Peony. Cinder was assigned to fix Kai s' android Iko. And also there was a letumosis pandemic that was spreading through the country, Also Cinder wanted to escape from her stepmother because she mistreated her just because she was a cyborg and she also blamed her for the death of her husband Gavan who died of letumosis.
All the village in Bejing were invited to the ball, and the stepsisters of Cinder were excited to dance with the prince Kai. But problems arose when Peony caught letumosis and also the father of Kai, emperor Rikan was sick of this disease. Cinder went as a medical volunteer by force, and the doctors that were with her discovered that she was immune from letumosis, in consequence, the doctors decided to send her again to her house, but Adri discovered that one of her daughters was sick and blamed Cinder for it and she decided to send her again to volunteer and to find the cure. After that emperor Rikan died of letumosis, having his only son Kai who was the heir of the throne to be soon the emperor.
Then one of the doctors decided to take a DNA test on Cinder and he told her that she was a Lunar, she did not believe it. Next, she visited the prince Kai and he asked her if she will go to the ball with him, and she rejected his invitation. Later she saw Queen Levana manipulating the people who were against her. She also discovered that Cinder was a Lunar. Cinder had the ability to detect lies and illusions, also when a person is saying the truth. At that moment she found a new cure for the leutomosis, to give it to Peony, but when she saw the last time her sister and tried to give her the antidote but she didn't survive and she died. Despite that a miracle happened with one boy named Susano, he was sick but soon recovered, of leutomosis, of how he recovered was still a mystery. At that point a group of cyborgs searched Cinder and returned her to Adri s' house, her stepmother wasn't happy about the death of Peony and she punished Cinder for "escaping from her ", by not going to the ball and she said that she was only a normal; and ordinary cyborg. As well her stepsister Pearl while preparing herself to go to the ball blamed her for her sister s' death. As Adri and Pearl were going to the ball, Cinder dressed and went to the ball to warn Prince Kai about Queen Levana.

Soon after she went to Kai is coronation and to the ball, and everyone was looking at Cinder, Kai said that she was her personal guest and they danced all night together. Next, she kissed him to make him change of opinion about marring Queen Levana but it didn't work. and she tried to warn him about her. After that Queen Levana provoked her to realize her magic powers as a Lunar and the doctor told her all the truth that she was a Lunar and that she was the Princess Selene, and that Queen Levana was her evil aunt. He also told her that they going to see each other again in Africa.
Finally, Prince Kai decided to imprison Cinder, but we don't know how many days she will stay in prison.
Describe the character/person who changed the most from the beginning to the end of the book. Explain the change and what caused it.
The character who changed the most from the end of the book was Cinder, she had a low self-esteem and she was considered a nobody to being conscious of her own identity and being independent and a curious lady. The change was the death of one her stepsisters Peony and the imprisonment.
Describe a minor character/person in the book who had major importance. Explain
The Emperor Rikan because he was the father of Kai and he was the emperor of Beijing before his death and also before his son inherited the throne.
Describe one major external conflict and one major internal conflict found in this book.
One major external conflict is the letumosis pandemic and one internal conflict is the negation and confusion Cinder has about her real identity.

I rated the book a 10/10 because I loved the book despite that I started to read it for almost two months ago. Also, I love science fiction and fairytales, I felt identified with the main protagonist and the letumosis pandemic reminded me of the coronavirus pandemic that is happening right now. I want to know what is going to happen next.
